Sacred text
Buddhism like all religions has a sacred text. The sacred text is called Tripitaka. The text is written in ancient Indian language called Pali and is very close to the language Budda himself spoke. The tripitaka is a very large book and explains the life of buddha.
Buddhism is based on Buddha's to teachings and just like Christianity has priests Buddhism has monks as their sacred leaders. There are three different sections in the Tripitaka which are the rule book for monks and nuns, the life of Buddha and buddha's teachings. some of the parables that Buddha taught are very similar to jesus'. |
